Part 4: Continuing Growth

While the MGMRC's relationship with the Georgia National Fair may have run its course, it was by no
means the end of chances for the club to garner important public exposure and for individual club
members to showcase their model railroading craftsmanship. In fact the club was just warming up for
what would turn out to be dozens of opportunities to exhibit their traveling modular-model-train layout
to the public over the next 10 years. A steady stream of events such as The Cherry Blossom Festival
in Macon, Rock Ranch in Upson County, Hampton Festival in Henry County, and Smoke Rise in Stone
Mountain would keep the club busy almost year round.

In 2010 the club, in conjunction with the Museum
of Aviation at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, embarked on what would become its longest
running and most successful series of layout exhibitions every November by anchoring the
Planes and Trains Exposition.
This event continues to give the club much important public exposure - to reach
and teach many people about the fun and fellowship of model railroading - and has allowed the club
to expand the size of its layout every time they present it while adding an almost endless variety
of dioramas to their modules for audiences to marvel at.
